Maria Rain

A well-preserved 'Carinthian barn' in the centre of Maria Rain is to be converted into a community centre for events by associations and festivals of all kinds. The character of the typical local barn with the stable underneath is to be retained as far as possible and only as little as necessary is to be added to fulfil the contemporary functions and as much as possible is to be preserved.  A square will be created around the barn in the centre of the village and the former grocery shop on the other side of the square will become a 24/7 shop with a cash register. Only regional products will be sold there, freshly produced by the surrounding farms and businesses.
